PACI launches online services to apply for family visa civil ID

Sunday, March 13, 2016

The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has included family visa among e-envelope services via its website https//e-envelope.paci.gov.kw for citizens and expatriates. According to new service, expatriates on family visa can apply for their civil ID online instead of submitting the envelop physically.

Director General of PACI Mosaed Mahmoud AlAsousi disclosed that the new method is within the framework of the authority to change the current paper envelope to e-envelope to enable clients to upload information without purchasing envelopes and making copies of their documents, so as to save time and efforts required to visit the headquarters.

He pointed out that documents required for completing the procedures for family visa include uploading passport photo, valid residency page and copy of traveling passport, and blood group via the website. In case the data intended to upload belong to a dependent added on the passport of a parent, information page of the parent should be uploaded alongside information pages for the first and second dependents, as the case may be.

He stressed that Indians should include the last page of father’s passport.

I can confirm that the application can be done painlessly at the site - had to change the photo of my son, was able to upload the required scanned files easily.
Still waiting to see if there is anything else, but this part was easy.
Maybe I missed this, but there seems to be no link from the PACI site to this link, which is strange.

The matter is not complete and it is confusing.
Is it applicable just for getting civil id card? this facility is already there over phone for long time. What about renewal of residency for the family?
Is it applicable for those who are applying first time for the residency for their family?

This is a good move. But did they stress that "Indians should include the last page of father’s passport" ?
