Arpan - Kuwait, a socio cultural organization, held its 17th Annual General Body Meeting during last week at Salmiya Red Flame Hall.
The Agenda was for selecting the new office bearers for the coming year as well as planning upcoming major activities for 2016.
The AGM started with prayer and paid homage to the great personalities left us during the year 2015. LW Convener Rathi Ramamoorthi welcomed everyone to the meeting. The AGM approved the Annual Working Report and Financial Report for 2015 presented by General Secretary (Venkatakrishnan) and Treasurer (Ganesh SP) respectively. The AGM discussed the overall performance of the association for the previous year and suggested the improvements. Arpan’s new website was also released by advisory board member Sri Suresh KP during the meeting.
As a matter of practice and tradition this year also, the children of Arpan family members who leave Kuwait for higher studies are honored during the meeting. All the Arpan family members extended their best wishes to the children for all their future studies and other endeavors.
The meeting unanimously elected P A Menon as the President, a veteran of many years and associations. The members present elected Sri Mohammed Rafi Padiyathu as the General Secretary, Sri S.P.Ganesh as the Treasurer, Sri Sreekumar Mankuzhy as PRO, Sri Anil Attuva as Cultural Secretary, Sri Sajeevan as Sports wing Secretary and Sri Mohan K Iyer has been selected as the Chairman, Suresh KP and Krishnan K Pillai as members to the Advisory Board. The AGM also selected Mr. Mahadevan (Vice president), Mr. Venkatakrishnan (Jt. Secretary), Ms. Sheena PS (Jt. Treasurer) to support the main office bearers with Ramamoorthi Ramaswami (Exe. Committee member), Sam C Vilanilam (Exe. Committee member), Charudethan(Exe. Committee member), Sreenath M Raghunath (Exe.Committee member), Mohan Radhakrishnan (Exe. Committee member), George Varghese (Exe. Committee member), Rathi Ramamoorthi (Exe. Committee member), Jyothy Ganesh (Exe. Committee member), Kala Mohan (Exe. Committee member).
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by exe member Sri Ramamoorthi followed by a sumptuous Lunch.
