The Central Bank of Kuwait will withdraw all old Kuwaiti banknotes from trading by tomorrow, October 1st. The fifth-edition currency notes will no longer be legal tender as of close of business on Oct 1.
Holders of the old notes must exchange them for the new editions at local banks ahead of the above mentioned date, as notes that are retained will lose their value and would no longer be traded.
Nevertheless, those who fail to exchange the old notes for new ones as scheduled may do so solely at the Central Bank within 10 years, but after this period, it would no longer be possible to make the exchange.
