"Glimmer of Hope – Bhagyoda Bolpu" by Tulu Koota Kuwait

Tulu Koota Kuwait, persistently continuing the charity work, once again takes pleasure to announce the philanthropic gesture under the banner “Glimmer of Hope – Bhagyoda Bolpu”. The twin ceremonies were held on the 20th September 2015 in Belthangady Taluk.

“A Glimmer of Hope – Bhagyoda Bolpu” undertaken by Tulu Koota Kuwait is a project to adopt 30 HIV infected children from 10 Villages of Belthangady Taluk for one year and provide them with educational, nutritional and medical assistance. Their food, medicines, uniforms and school accessories will be taken care of with this aid. This contribution would positively assist in enhancing the lives of the HIV infected children by improving their health, nutritional condition, educational performance and support them in living a normal life.

The event that took place in the Navajeevana Care and Support Center in Kashibettu, was a very emotional one for everyone present. The chief guest for the event was Rev. Fr. Jose Valiaparambil, Vigar General, Diocese of Belthangady. The guest of honour were Rev. Fr. Jose Ayamkudy, Director of DKRDS (Dakshina Kannada Rural Development Society (R) Belthangady, Mr. Tharendra.P.Shettigar – President of Tulu Koota Kuwait, Mr. Chandrahas Shetty – Welfare Officer, Mr. Wilson D’Souza – General Secretary, Mrs. Swarna Shetty – Advisor. The other guests included Mr. Elias Sanctis – Ex President of TKK, Mr. Louis Lobo, Mr. Sathya Narayan, Mrs. Rekha Shettigar and Mrs. Tressy Sanctis.

Mr. Tharendra Shettigar handed over the cheque adopting the 30 HIV infected children and in his speech expressed his gratitude towards Tulu Koota Kuwait for their contribution in illuminating the lives of these children and helps them walk through their path of life without obstacles. Mrs. Swarna Shetty in her speech gave her best wishes to the children. The event conducted very well by Mrs. Cecilia Tauro, Programme Coordinator of DKRDS.

The other event that took place at the Gram Panchayat Sabha Bhavan, Kakkinje was to hand over the Free Medical Checkup Vehicle-‘Shri Krishna Yogakshema Vehicle’ to Sri Krishna Hospital, who under the banner of “Sri Krishna Yoga Kshema” have been doing the generous work of going to the doorstep of the needy patients along with the treatment required.

The program was inaugurated by Shri U. Vijayraghava Padvenayaru, the Dharmadarshi of Shri Janardhana Swamy Temple, Ujjire. The chief guest for the event was Mrs. M. Shylaja, the President of the Charmadi Grampanchayat, while the guests were Mr. Shridhar G. Bede, Mr. Vinayak Rao, Prof Dr. M.N. Dayakar, Mrs. Roopa J. Jain, Mr. Antony, Mr. Ashraf B. and Mr. Ashraf Alikunya. Tulu Koota Kuwait guests included Mr.Tharendra P. Shettigar- President of Tulu Koota Kuwait, Mr. Wilson D’Souza - General Secretary, Mr. Chandrahas Shetty - Welfare Officer, Mrs. Swarna Shetty - Advisor, Mr. Elias Sanctis – Ex-President and Mr. Loius Lobo.

Mr. Tharendra Shettigar handed over the key of ‘Shri Krishna Yogakshema Vehicle’ to Dr. Murali Krishna Ervathraya of Sri Krishna Hospital under the banner of the Glimmer of Hope and in his speech praised the work done by the Shri Krishna Hospital doctors of going to the houses in the rural areas and treating the sick and needy. He even mentioned that the vehicle has been donated with the hard earned money of the TKK members and hoped that it would be utilized righteously. Mr. Chandrahas Shetty in his speech proudly informed the guests about the charity projects executed by Tulu Koota Kuwait since its inception while Mr. Wilson D’Souza gave a vote of thanks for organising the event very well. The program was beautifully hosted by Mr. Kamalaksha Acharya.
