Lulu Hypermarket celebrated Onam festival

Lulu Hypermarket, the regional leader in retailing, is holding a 12-day Onam promotion from 25 August to 5 September that kicked off at their Al-Rai outlet with several cultural, traditional and non-traditional festivities. Onam, the biggest and most important festival of the year in Kerala, is a harvest festival that also marks the start of the New Year in the state.

The celebratory events at Lulu Hypermarket were inaugurated by the Regional Director of Lulu Hypermarket Mohamed Haris, in the presence of top management staff, on 29th August. The event held at all of its outlets, in sponsorship with leading food brand, Double Horse, featured special Onam promotions and offers on food items and garments.

The ongoing celebrations gather pace in the evening hours and feature traditional and non-traditional dance shows with various prizes being offered to all the stage performance participants. As part of the Onam promotion, an hour-long special children’s drawing competition was held 27 August at 7pm and the popular Onam Floral Carpet design competition was held on 29 August from 9.30am.

Gift vouchers from Lulu Hypermarket worth KD100, KD75 and KD50 were awarded to the first, second and third place winners of the floral competition respectively, as well as consolation prizes to all the other participants.

The Onam celebrations at Lulu Hypermarket highlight the retailer’s keenness to interact with their customers at every level and to share with zeal the festive spirit of their cultural and social celebrations.
