Indian community school outperforms in CBSE Results

The Indian Community School, Kuwait, outperformed this year’s CBSE 12th grade exam with Kuwait topper in 12 subjects out of 14, the school management informed in a press meeting. ICSK is the only school in Kuwait with 100% score in two subjects Chemistry and Informatics Practices in the class XII result of CBSE, the Vice Chairman of the school board Mr Bobby Mathew said in a press conference held at the school premise.

This year result proved that the focus of ICSK is 'No child is left behind', the vice chairman said. The school bagged highest number of first classes in this year result. Out of 266 students that appeared, 262 students i.e. 99% got first class, which is a historical win for the school, the board members said. The school also has a credit of highest number of examinees appearing from a school in Kuwait, officials said.

ICSK is the only school in Kuwait meant exclusively for Indian students. "We take pride in our highly qualified dedicated and competent teaching faculty" the Mr Bobby Mathew said. ICSK for the first time introduced cash incentives to the teachers for excellent results of their students in class XII exam, which combined with a favorable student-teacher ratio and remedial classes for under achievers and extra attention to students helped us to achieve this outperforming result, the management said. 40 of our teachers received best teacher award from Human Resource minister Smt Smriti Irani last year, he added.

ICSK had started afternoon shifts in Amman and Senior branches to accommodate all students willing to study in this school. Around 120 students are attending our National Institute of Open Schooling classes, vice chairman said.

The vice chairman extended the wishes of newly elected Chairman Mr SK Wadhawan, who couldn’t attend the press briefing as he was out of Kuwait. ICSK is the first school in Kuwait to introduce SMS based student attendance system, said Secretary Mr Vijayan Karayil, who was also present at the press briefing along with other board members. The school is trying to get approval from government of India to become a center for writing entrance examination, Mr Vijayan Karayil said.

The agreement for the land given by the Kuwait government to build a new school at Mangaf is already signed between the School Sponsor and the Kuwait Government. We are waiting to get the final legal opinion regarding this and once the legal opinion is finalized the project will start soon, Vice Chairman said. The proposed school will be built on a 25,000 sq mt building with a 2000 sq mt of parking space, he informed.
