'Thanal' giving solace to destitute

In the wake of rising number of derelicts and destitute, Kerala based NGO organization ‘Thanal’ Rehabilitation Trust, located in Vadakara, begin a new project at Edachery in Nadapuram, Kozhikode district. The new center can accommodate around 600 people, the organizers said in a press conference held here in Kuwait.

Within a short span of time 'Thanal' has been sheltered around 800 destitute, many of them are cast-offs from their homes, the society, their kith and kin. Thanal shelters such down and out people not just from every part of Kerala, but from the neighboring states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well. Thanal and its committed, caring and selfless band of volunteers treat and cure the inmates as their own family members, Dr Idris, the brain behind this noble venture said here.

‘Thanal’ gives shelters to people who have no home of their own and human beings who have been thrown out from their homes in their old age. At 'Thanal', the inmates have a feeling that they have regained their sons, daughter and other beloved ones, Dr Idris said. Started in year 2008, 'Thanal' today giving free dialysis to around 150 people and the 'Thanal' Pain and Palliative care center is taking care of 200 inmates. Other services like Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Sugar Free clinic etc are also conducted by the dedicated team of 'Thanal', the organizers said.

'Thanal' Rehabilitation Trust is driven by a group of passionate individuals committed to bringing hope and light to those who live in a hopeless situation and are facing the hard realities of life. The organizers are in Kuwait to meet generous and noble-hearted gentleman in order to wipe the tears from people who have no other way to go and offer them food and bring a smile on their face. Siddiq Valiyakath, Muhammed, Ali Sageer, Muhammed Edachaerry and Rasheed Payanthong were also present with Dr Idris during the press meet.
