Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan) hosted the preliminary cum elimination round of the KQ Matters 2015 -2016 in the school hall on Saturday, the 16th of May, 2015. The contest was open to the knowledge-thirsty quizzers from all the Indian, international, and, bilingual schools within the country.

KQ (Knowledge Quotient) Matters is a nonpareil mega interschool quiz competition conducted annually by Indian Educational School. The scientifically chosen infotainment-packed quizzing rounds that consist of thought-provoking questions infused with novelty and gusto have set KQ Matters 2015 apart from the mundane quiz contests in the country. Besides, handsome cash prizes and exclusive media coverage have made KQ Matters the most sought-after cerebral game in the Middle East.

The preliminary cum elimination round of KQ Matters 2015 began on a solemn and pious note with the recital of the Holy Quran. A secular prayer rendered by the school choir touched many a spiritual chord. The ceremonious lamp symbolizing the dispeller of the darkness of ignorance was conjointly lit by Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, the chairman, Bhavans Middle East, Mr. T. Premkumar, the principal, IES, Mrs. Anita Sadanand, Mrs. Lalitha Premkumar, and Mr. Suresh.V.Balakrishnan, the vice principals of IES, Mrs. Rathi Raveendran, the principal, Bhavans Jack and Jill, Mangaf, Mrs. Rajni Menon, the head of Bhavan’s Pearl Nursery School, and Mr. Sunil Kumar Menon, the coordinator of KQ Matters 2015-2016.

Miss Keerthiga Nagarajan, the head girl of IES explained to the quizzers and the audience the rules governing the preliminary round and how the top six teams would be selected for the grand finale. The quizzers were then ushered to the exam venues by the supreme council members. The quizzers appeared for a qualifying examination under the watchful eyes of the invigilators. The challenging questions that the quizzers answered dauntlessly were indeed the outcome of a month-long research by the KQ Matters resource panel.

The 51 teams with 102 aspiring contestants from various schools in Kuwait intellectually revelled in the brain game that touched upon all the realms and spheres of knowledge. The answer scripts were evaluated by the KQ resource panel and then the results were declared by the principal of Indian Educational School amid elation and euphoria of success.
