Kala(Art) Kuwait, a leading Progressive Art and Socio Cultural Organization among the Indian Community in Kuwait conducted its variety entertainment program titled as “Keraleeyam 2015” on Friday, 8th May 2015 at Indian Central School, Abbasiya. The function was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Sunil Jain, The Ambassador of India to Kuwait. The Ambassador appreciates the efforts behind conducting such an event of unity in the occasion.

The program were scheduled with an event of presenting “Kala Kuwait-Sambasivan Award” to the well known South Indian Classic Dancer, Actress of the big and small screen as well as a dance guru, Dr. Tara Kalyan. The prestigious award was presented to Dr. Tara Kalyan by the Ambassador in presence of a cheerful audience. “Sambasivan Award” was instituted in memory of eminent 'Katha Prasangam' artist late V. Sambasivan. The award comprises Rs 25,000 and citation. Dr. Tara Kalyan had been selected unanimously for her outstanding contribution to the classic dance realm.

The main attraction of the event was the live classical dance performance by Dr.Tara Kalyan followed by Ghazal Hits by Bushara Bava from Kozhikkode. The Music concert (Ganamela) with the Orchestra conducted under the leadership by leading singers from Kuwait, Mr. Mubarak Al-Rashed, a Kuwaiti National, singing melodious Hindi songs, Mr. Biju Thikkodi, Mr. Mohammed Rafi, Mrs. Simi, Kumari Namitha Sivakumar and Kumari Sneha Das and Mimics Parade leading by Mr. Vibin Kalabhavan, & Mr. Rajesh Angadikkal.

In addition to this, there was a classical dance (Bharathanattyam) competition for senior students and the winners as 1st Prize- Ms Dhanu Manu Achu, 2nd Prize- Amrutha Rajan & 3rd Prize Stefina Sebastin. A fusion cinematic dance leads by Shahana Sameer and variety of other cultural activities and traditional dances by other distinctive artists to entertain the Indian expatriates.

Mr. Jaison Joseph, President of Kala (Art) Kuwait chaired the meeting. Mr. Ragesh P. D., General secretary done welcome speech and Mr. Mukesh V. P., Convener presented the detailed reports about the program. Mr. Sam Kutty Thomas expressed vote of thanks. Kala (Art) Kuwait founder Member R.S. Pillai and Dr. Tara Kalyan also delivered felicitation speech. A Multi Color Souvenir was released by Mr. Ranjith Pillai, UAE Exchange and Mr. Ramdas, BEC Exchange to handing over the first copy to Mr. Tathidas and Mr. Vibin. Kala (Art) Kuwait leaders Mr. Babu Safvat, Mr. Aneecha Shyjith, Mrs. Tasleena Najeeb, Mr. Johney Kalamachal were also present on the dais. Naura Naseem compeered the program.

Kala(Art) Kuwait President Mr. Jaison Joseph, General Secretary Mr. Ragesh P. D., Program General Convener Mr. Mukesh V. P., thanked the wholehearted cooperation and support from public and Medias to make the unique event as a great success.
