We the Leaders………
The 15th of March was a special day for the students of the CBSEi branch of Indian Educational School, Kuwait. There was a lot of excitement and action when five new clubs were introduced for the students. The students welcomed this decision with a lot of enthusiasm and gusto.
IES realizes the importance of creating leaders in students. This induction of clubs was a step towards realizing this dream. Student organizations play an important role in student life and help to develop leadership skills, provide networking opportunities, enhance education outside of the class room and strengthen the communication between faculty, staff and the students.
Towards this end five clubs viz. Eco Club, Reading Club, Heritage Club, Health Club and Photography and Art Club were introduced. The first meeting of all the clubs was a super success. The Presidents and Secretaries were elected by the members, and the students had their first taste of the democratic form of electing a member. Students of Grade 4, 5 and 6 were nominated for the post of the President and the Secretary. A few clubs used the hand raising method and a few chose to elect using ballot papers. The official inauguration of these clubs will be done in the days to come inviting renowned persons in various walks of life in the society.
The Health Club elected Jonathan of Grade 4i as the President and Parvathy of Grade 6i as the Secretary.
The Photography and Art Club chose Arshia Sarkar of Grade 6i as the President and Aneesha Bhattacharya as the Secretary.
The Reading Club chose Mohammed Sami of Grade 6i as its President and Syed Ahsan Ali of Grade 5i as its Secretary.
The Heritage Club elected Geo Varghese Mathew as its President and Vinayak Anil Kumar as its Secretary.
The Eco Club chose Sambhav Nath Jain as its President and Burhanuddin Murtaza as its Secretary.
