Famous Mappila song artist, mentor and critic Faizal Elate has been declared the winner of prestigious Moinkutty Vaidhyar Memorial Award installed by Mappila Kala Vedi Kuwait (MKVK) for the year 2015. The awardee was selected by the jury comprising of renowned music director Vidyadharan Master, mappila song lyricist Jamal Kochangadi and Social worker Abdul Salam Focus. Faizal Elate has played a key role in guiding the new generation mappila song artists by leading them through the traditional flavour of mappila songs. The jury commented on his effort to create the awareness in the new generation singers on the soul of mappila songs which is now getting deviated from the original version. Award consisting the certificate and cash of Rs.25001 will be handed over at the 2nd annual celebration of Mappila Kala Vedi Kuwait which is scheduled to be held on 1st May, 2015 at Indian Community School, Kaithan.
