A grand prize distribution ceremony was conducted for the winners of ‘Whizkid Competition’ on 12th February, 2015, at the Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman. Mr. George Abraham, Associate Editor and Chief Bureau of Deepika Daily, who is based in New Delhi, was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
He was accompanied with his wife Mrs Sindhu George, a teacher at Ryan International School, Delhi. The function was graced by Hon. Secretary to the Board of Trustees of ICSK Mr. Vijay Karayil, Principal of ICSK Khaitan Mr. K. G Shirsath, parents and teachers.
Principal of ICSK Amman Mr. Rajesh Nair C welcomed all the dignitaries and informed that each child of the ICSK is seen as independent, strong, capable, curious, talented and gifted.
In the Presidential address, Mr. Vijay Karayil appreciated all the winners, participants, teachers and parents for all their endeavors. He wished that all the parents would encourage the children with their continued support throughout their schooling.
The tiny tots of the LKG and UKG were the stars of the day, sparkling in their colourful attires. The ceremony began with the school prayer and proceeded with a welcome speech by the students of UKG, a welcome song and six spectacular dances, performed by the tiny tots.
The teachers and the parents collectively nurtured and trained the children bringing out the artistic, musical and other talents in them. Different competitions were organised as part of the ‘Whizkid Competitions’ like origami, action-song, memory test, show ‘n’ tell, dance competition, quiz and recitation. The winners of Whizkid from LKG and UKG were crowned and awarded with trophies and certificates. Whizkid winners from each class of LKG are 1) Shiv Ankur Upadhyay (LKG-A) 2) Seira Elizabeth Wilson (LKG_B) 3) Reyansh Rajiv Kumar & 4) Reema Jafar (LKG_C)
Whizkid winners from each class of UKG are 1) Akshita Preethymon (UKG-A) 2) Karen Ruth Ramesh & 3)Parvathy Krishna Prasad (UKG-B) 4) Meha Sudheesh Kumar.(UKG-C). 1st and 2nd runner-up trophies and certificates were given to 13 students of LKG and UKG respectively.
It was a wonderful sight to behold as the Amman school auditorium glowed with the beaming young winners, their gratified teachers and proud parents. Indeed, the enthusiasm of parents, the hard work of children and the teachers brought out the best in the students making the show a great success. Vote of thanks was given by the students of UKG and Mrs. Julie Anthony, the supervisor of the pre-primary section.
