Dr. Fathima Suhail bags first place in the IKFS' Essay competition

Dr. Fathima Suhail, a Dental Doctor (Practicing at Mangalore based Yenepoya Dental College, India) has bagged the first place in the Essay competition conducted by Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society, one of the leading NGO, socio-cultural, non-religious, non-political, non-profit, friendship NRI association, in Kuwait. The essay competition was held in loving memory of Late "Rachel Corrie" an American peace activist who sacrificed her life for the homeless Palestinians in Gaza.

IKFS earlier invited all to compete and participate in the “23 page” Essay on the topic “Global Violence and Remedy for Peace” in Arabic or English language. The entry was restricted to Young women aged 23 years only, so as to coincide with the life of the “Rachel Corrie, an American Peace activist" who was killed on 16th March 2003, by Israelis. Israeli Bulldozer over ran while Corrie was on a peaceful demonstration against the demolition of Palestinian homes in Gaza.

The winner will be awarded a cash prize of 10,001 Indian Rupees and an Honorary Plaque “encrypted with "Loving memory of Late Rachel Corrie” in a IKFS function to be held on Friday, 10th April, 2015 (Jumaad Al Aakhir 21, 1436 Hijri) instead of 26th February 2015, which was announced earlier due to coinciding with Rachel Corrie's birth date of 10th April 1979.

The event will be convened in Chennai with the participation of IKFS patrons Professor Khan Baqawi and Padmashree Dr. Alok Mehta, (Former President of Press Council of India) and other prominent personalities of India and abroad.

Dr. Fathima also secured first place in a recently held Essay competition on "Youth awareness" conducted by students wing of Yenepoya Dental College, Managalore.
