Kala(Art) Kuwait “NIRAM 2014” Prize Distribution Ceremony held

Kala(Art) Kuwait “NIRAM-2014” powered by "SHIFA AL JAZEERA Medical Center” Childrens’ Day painting competition, under the patronage of H. E. Mr. Sunil Jain, The Ambassador of India, Indian Embassy Kuwait, has come to a close upon the distribution of prizes to all winners at a colorful function held at Indian Community School, Khaitan on Friday,12th December 2014. The program was witnessed by Community Leaders, Business Personalities, School Principals, Art Teachers and Media Representatives. The Painting competition was held on the occasion of the birthday of late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of Independent India.

Mr. Gangadhar Shirshad, Principal, Indian Community School Kuwait, Khaitan Branch, inaugurated the function. On his inaugural speech, Mr. Shirshad noted Panditji's empathy towards children and his vision for India and appreciated the organizers for such programs. NIRAM 10TH Anniversary souvenir was released by Mr. Razwan Abdul Khader, Deputy General Manager, Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Center, the 1st copy handing over to Mr. A. Mohanan, Treasurer, Kala(Art) Kuwait

The Marvelous evening started with the National Anthem. A warm welcome is followed by Mr. Mukesh V. P., General Secretary, Kala(Art) Kuwait. Organization President K Hassan Koya Chaired the function. The program was enriched by the speech of the chief dignitaries like Mr. Razwan Abdul Khader, Deputy General Manager, Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Center, Mr. Mohammed Harees, Resident Director, Lulu Hyper Market, Mr. Sharafuddin Kanneth, Director, Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board, Mr. Malayil Moosakoya, Director, India International School, Mangaf, Mr. Ranjith Pillai, Country Manager, UAE Exchange, Mr. P.N.J. Kumar, Manager, Ceasors Travels, Mr. Mathew Vargheese, Manger, Behrain Exchange, Dr. Anjol Sakia and Parents Representative. Mr. Samkutty Thomas Mr. Jaisaon Joseph, Mr. C. Bhaskaran, Artist Sasikrishnan, Artist M.V.John and Artist Shummy John also were present in the dais and distributed prizes to the winners of each group. The program reporting was done by Mr. Samkutty Thomas, General Convener Niram-2014 and Judging Assessment was briefed by Artist Sasikrishnan. Kala(Art) Kuwait Joint Secretary Jaison Joseph congratulated the winners and thanked the guests and audience.

Overall Champion Ship 1st Position achieved by IES-Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Abbasiya, 2nd Position achieved by Fahaheel Al-Wataniya Indian Private School (DPS), Ahmadi, 3rd Position achieved by United Indian School, Abbasiya. The Panel of Judges Artist Sasikrishnan, Artist Shummy John and Artist M.V.John were honored by KALA(Art) Kuwait by giving away mementos to them in recognition of their laudable services in the field of arts.

It is noteworthy that a total of 2225 students from 20 Indian schools in Kuwait had entered the competition classified as 5 groups. Accordingly, 1st Prize to each group 5, 2nd Prize to 10, 3rd prize to 9, Merit Prize to 44 and 177 consolation prizes (Total 245 Prizes) were distributed.

Mohanan, Rakesh Parambath, Babu Safvath, Sunil Kumar, Johney Kalamachal, Aneesh Varghese, Vibin Kalabhavan, Sameer, Renuka, Thasleena, Aneecha, Shivakumar, Shaji, Rathidas, Santhosh, Shyjith, Rakesh, Anil Varghese Sharath, Vishnu, Lakh, Noushad, Prince, Ullas, Bharathan and Kanakaraj were active as volunteers to ensure the smooth and successful holding of the program. Compeering was done by Mr. Jeeves Erinjery and Divya Kiran.

Kala(Art) Kuwait has congratulated all the winners and also thanked all the participants as well as School Managements, Sponsors, All Indian Associations, Kuwait's English dailies, Web Portals and Malayalam Medias for their wholehearted support to make the event a grand success. Also thanked the parents and art teachers for their cooperation and support and to the management of Indian Community School-Khaitan.
