Favorites Goan Boys fall, Spark XI finishes 3rd DFC win 8th BEC RedNBlack T10 Cup

Abu Halifa, Kuwait city- DFC salmia defeated tournament favorites Goan Boys to win 8th BEC RadnBlack T10 cricket tournament organized by Rednblack cricket club. The final was held On November 28, 2014 at Abu Halifa Cricket Stadium

DFC captain Sayilesh won the toss and elected to bat first, seemed to be a wrong decision as the openers fell cheaply. Opener Arun fell on the very first ball, thanks to the wonderful bowling form of Javed during the whole tournament .Other opening batsman Nithin who was the master blaster for DFC during the whole tournament also fell cheaply. Then captain Sayilesh anchored the rescue followed by some cracking shots from Arun and Ashar in the final over which helped DFC to accumulate 76 runs in the last 5 overs to end their innings for 109 runs in 10 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Javed of the Goan Boys was the pick of the bowlers with a figure of 3 for 13 in 2 overs.

In reply, Goan Boys started in a slow pace that lasted whole their innings .Their batsmen never cope with the required run rate of 11 runs an over. Their batsmen fell on regular intervals and the relief was some entertaining shots from Bablu in the last overs which proved not enough to reach the targetof 110 and Goan Boys end their innings with a total of 82 for 5 wickets in 10 overs.

The prize distribution was a brief ceremony with Bobins Mathew secretary RednBalck club inviting the teams and the BEC executives and Rednblack executives to the stage.

There were many people present including Mr. Ramdass, sales head of BEC, Mr. Nibu, marketing manager of BEC, Mr.Rinosh, marketing manager BEC India, Mr. Jiju Abraham president Rednblack, Mr. Sijo Mathew manger Rednblack and Mr. Jimmy Scaria treasurer Rednblack. In the presentation ceremony Mr. Ramdass addressed the gathering and congratulated the teams and the organizers for their collective effort .Mr Ramdass emphasized Bahrain Exchange Company’s interest to sponsor sports events which enables youth to have a healthy and disciplined life in Kuwait. He congratulated the winning teams for their collective sportsman spirit and also congratulated RedNblack club for conducting a very well organized tournament in a fair manner and appreciated the club for the continuing partnership with BEC. He thanked Rejeesh and Jimmy for officiating the match.

Finally the winners trophy was given to DFC and the runners up to Goan Boys and Third position to spark XI Abbassiya. Winners got trophy along with cash prizes.

Nidhin of DFC won the player of the tournament prize and Arun won the man of the match of final.

DFC 109 for 5 in 10 overs,

Goan Boys: 82 for 5 in 10 overs.

Match result: DFC won by 27 runs
