‘Work together to benefit from fruits of oil wealth’

‘New fields, global expertise primary goal’
His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah presided here Monday over a meeting of the Higher Council of Petroleum at Seif Palace.
HH the Prime Minister said in an address at the beginning of the meeting that the new oil finds and seeking the assistance of the distinguished world experts remain an original goal that furthers efforts and musters energies in order to reach positive results that achieve welfare for the people.
He added, addressing the council, that “all await a lot from you in order to invest such natural wealth and benefit from its revenues and so all of us in the council should be of single-minded as the supreme interest of Kuwait is our guide toward achieving our national interests.” Furthermore, HH the Prime Minister congratulated the new members of the Higher Council of Petroleum on winning the trust of HH the Amir of Kuwait who gave them an opportunity to share the responsibilities in the council, expressing at the same time his appreciation for the members who took part in the previous functions of the council.
HH the Prime Minister also pointed out the significance of forming the council which comes under many political and economic variables, stressing the necessity of doubling efforts toward keeping up with the times and catching up with the rapid developments in the field of the oil industries.
HH the Prime Minister also drew attention to the great hopes pinned by the Kuwaiti people on the council as one of the most important components of the national economy and a fulcrum of development in the country with the aim of preserving this natural wealth that accounts for the biggest share of the national income.
Finally, H.H. the Prime Minister stressed the protection of such wealth, the good management of its affairs and drawing up the policies that ensure its thriving and growth in order to achieve best results for the country and its citizens.
