Men’s voice and Choral Society- Kuwait Conducted 14th Music Concert ”Sing We Gloria”

The call to the season of Joy has resounded once more this Christmas time. The Men’s voice and Choral Society have, with their scintillating music, performed their 14th Annual Concert on 5th December at Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS) with the theme “Sing We Gloria”. The night overflowed with melodies that warmed hearts and filled listeners with a sense of joyfulness as the charismatic chorale progressed though carols that took listeners on a journey around the world. Carols from different lands, from Asia to Europe, from the Caribbean to the American continent and to God’s own country, the land of coconut palms resonated through the evening. They were able to rekindle the message of Peace, Hope Love and Joy through their songs, which is the motto of the group.

Rev. Samji K Sam, Vicar of the St. Peter’s CSI Congregation began the program with the opening prayer, which he started with a melodious prayer song. Mr. Thomas Varghese, Secretary, Men’s Voice and Choral Society gave the welcome speech and welcomed the distinguished gathering. Rev. C. C Sabu, Vicar, St. Paul’s CSI Congregation Ahmadi felicitated the choir on its 14th Annual concert. Rev. Sam T Koshy, Vicar, Kuwait City Marthoma Church shared the Christmas Message. Rev. C. C Sabu, led the closing prayer and the benediction. Mr. Thomas Thomas, organizer of the Men’s voice and the Choral society proposed the vote of thanks. Choir Master, Mr. Ajith Babu conducted the Choir superbly. The team was trained under the Choir Masters Mr. Ajith Babu & Mr. Fredrick Nirmal. Mr. Shine Cherian Sam also re-arranged and conducted two special songs “Pat-a-pan”, a French carol and “Alegria”, a Puerto Rican Carol.

The event was triumphant under the organizers Mr. Thomas Thomas, Mr. Akash John Thomas and Mr. Mathew M Varghese, Mr. Nebu Joseph (President), Mr. Mathew Varghese (Vice President), Mr. Thomas Varghese (Secretary) and Mr. Kurien George (Joint secretary). The event was viva-cious with the Compeering of Mr. Bobby George Kurien and Miss Megha Maria Akash. Rev. V.S. Skariah, Vicar, St. James Marthoma Church also graced the occasion. A few audience prizes from one of our sponsors was also distributed by Mr. John Thomas, Administrative Manager of UIS (United Indian School), Mrs. Susan Roy, Principal of UIS, Mr. Mathew Varghese (Vice President) and Mr. Kurien George (Joint secretary) to the lucky individuals.

The highlights of the event were the theme song, ‘Sing We Gloria’, this Christmas anthem, under-lying the dynamic score with the well-known melody, ’Carol of the Bells is written by David T. Clydesdale also the carol ‘The coming of the King processional’ left the audience much delight-ed. The event closed with the rendition of the perennial favorite of Christmas, Silent Night fol-lowed by a new Christmas benediction.

Kudos to the Office-bearers, organizers, choir masters and members Of Men’s voice and Choral Society on presenting an enthralling and heart warming Christmas Concert.
