Where Boys become Men, Where new leaders emerge!!

The 3rd edition of BORN TO KICK, soccer tournament organized by SCHNEIDER SOCCER CLUB was a huge success and had all players and parents chant praises for the way the tournament was conducted and organized.

BORN TO KICK, which has a vision to support and encourage the youth to display their talent and feel the excitement of sportsmanship has been blessed and well supported this time around. SSC wishes to thank its generous sponsors who made this event a memorable one for the kids through their warm and whole hearted contribution. (Elle & Vire - Massad Co, Sports Direct, Premier Goal Academy, Alghanim Motors, Caesar Confectionary and Arabian Beverage Co)

This soccerific tournament got bigger and gave more kids the opportunity to express their enthusiasm for the sport and enjoy the game of soccer.

Total 8 teams were invited to this year’s tournament, 4 teams in each age category (under 14 &under 16), each team played 3 games in the round robin league and the top 2 teams played for the glory.

The parents and fans were treated to a sensational display of soccer skills and were mesmerized by the prowess of their kins; some parents even had tears to see their child(rens)compete for supremacy for the first time in their life.

The under 16 teams that participated this year were: Schneider Soccer Club, Galaxy 8, Destroyers & Farwaniya Football Club,

SSC boys took the game to a whole new level and emerged as CHAMPIONS... they played a scintillating final versus the gallant Galaxy 8 boys, who never gave up till the end … the dazzling twins Hamza & Hassan of SSC mesmerized the spectators with their skills and confused the opponents with their double role antics, they were deserving winners of several individual outstanding awards and the love of the spectators. They were intensely supported on the front line by the flamboyant Declan and persistent Gilchrist… SSC defense was solidified by the sturdy trio, Brandon, Nigel and Mclean, while the lone ranger Cinthil protected the goal line.

Galaxy 8,a team with a determination to WIN was the brave hearts of the tournament, they fought hard and fair, Shawn the ROCK as they all call him was the backbone of the team who steered the team to the Silverware. He was ably supported by his equally energetic teammates, Ransley, Ralph, Jose, Samarth, Calvin and Joshua.

The Teams that took part in the under 14 category were, Schneider Soccer Club, Soccer boys – A, Elle &Vire and Soccer boys – B.

In the under 14 finals, SOCCER BOYS grab last –gasp win versus SSC , Soccer Boys snatched a vital 1-0 win to SSC ,through Aftab’s winner deep into stoppage time.

This was a repeat final from last year but this time round Soccer boys announced their arrival into the big league. They had some young and blooming talent such as Ashley, Reuben, Kristen, and Aftab who were the strikingforce, Aaron, Norris, Mustafa, and Darryl in defence with Shawn as the goalkeeper.

SSC, the Champions of 2013, had a confident look going into the finals without losing any league matches; however they were shocked by the determined opponent and had to settle for the silverware. As usual SSC boys displayed their awestruck talent and the treble force of Joshua, Jayden and Schneider continued defying the opponent defense and winning hearts by their skills and natural instincts... their fierce wall of defense was manned by Aaron, Nigel, Reeno & Keane with Nigel in the goal.

The highlight of B2K -2014 and the surprise element of this event was the girl’s exhibition match that delighted and spellbound the spectators. The thrilling game ofsoccer played by the enthusiastic girls of Latino girls and Chicks with Kick was much appreciated by the family and friends.

The MOST VALUEBLE PLAYERS of the tournament were: U14 - Jayden (SSC), Aftab (Soccer Boys A), U16 – Shawn (Galaxy 8) & Hassan (SSC).

The soccer fiesta ended with the highest standard of discipline and sportsmanship, high scoring games, thrilling finishes, delighted parents and a day filled with love, fun and frolic.

B2K helped to create awareness on the significance of family values by sending personal invitation to every parent to attend and support their kin, and also showcased the power of sports in keeping children healthy and under sage environment.

SSC expresses its gratitude to all the children for their continued love and dedication, the parents for their belief, the sponsors for their generosity and above all to the SSC family (D’Mello’ S, Fernandes’, Venty’s & Almedia’s) for their whole hearted, dedicated and selfless support and without whom the dream of BORN TO KICK would never get WINGS!!!
