Lenovo announced the launch of its latest range of 'Idea' products in collaboration with its Kuwaiti partner Ali Alghanim and Sons General Trading. The 'Idea' products target consumers and professionals who are looking to maximize entertainment and computing performance to get the job done at work and keep them connected and enjoying their computing experience as well.
Even though Kuwait was hit hard by the effects of the regional economic slowdown yet in its IT report for Q1 2010 Business Monitor International expects local IT spending to reach around $761m in 2010. The Kuwaiti computer hardware market is expected to reach a value of $319m. According to BMI Kuwait has a number of enduring strengths, including its relatively small but tech-literate and wealthy population which makes it an important regional testing ground for new products.
"Kuwait is the third largest IT market in the region after Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The market offers good opportunities for companies that are looking into investing or expanding their business. Kuwait is set to be one of the fastest growing countries in the region thanks to government's initiatives to drive IT developments and companies from various sectors investing heavily in IT infrastructure and services," said Ali Al-Amine, Acting General Manager, Lenovo Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan.
