Bhavans to conduct Prestigious Quiz competition KQ Matters

The finals of the fifth edition of the prestigious KQ Matters, the biggest and the most challenging open quiz contest for the budding quizzers in Kuwait will be held this Friday, 31st of October 2014 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan auditorium at 6:00 pm, school authorities said ina press meet.

KQ Matters is the first open general knowledge quiz contest conducted by an Indian school in Kuwait in all fairness with the objective of promoting the passion for knowledge among the young minds, Principal Mr Premkumar said. Around 65 teams consisting of 130 students from all Indians schools participated in this years preliminary round. 6 teams are qualified to the final round. Indian community School Amman branch, Indian Community School Senior branch, Indian Community School Khaitan branch, Gulf Indian School, Carmel School Kuwait and United Indian School are in the final round.

American International School Director Mrs Samera Al Rayes will be the chief guest for the day, principal said. The winners are bestowed with an ever-rolling trophy and a cash prize of KD 500. The first and second runners-up are presented with the cash prizes of KD 300 and 200 respectively.

KQ Matters or Knowledge Quotient Matters was started in the year 2010. What sets KQ Matters apart is its novelty and multi-dimensional academic approach, said Mr Sunil Menon, coordinator for KQ Matters. The rounds of the quiz contest are scientifically designed, and are filled to the brim with infotainment. Democratic and congenial rules in all transparency are yet another highlight of this mega quiz contest, he said.

School Chairman Sri N K Ramachandran, Quiz Masters Mr Suresh Balakrishnan and Mrs Vineetha Maheswary were also present during the press meet.
