Malabar Gold & Diamonds encourages blood donation via new initiative – “Donate Blood – Gift life”

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the leading jewellery retailers in the world intends to bring a significant difference to the society by spreading the importance of blood donation. The event will be held on 21st August 2014, next to their outlet in Lu&lu Hypermarket, Dajeej from 4 pm to 8 pm.

According to WHO, the need for blood is rising in all parts of the world and someone in the world needs blood every second. One donation can help to save the lives of up to 3 people. Safe blood helps to save lives and also improves the health of the donor.

Recently there were reports in media citing shortage of blood in Kuwait. The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness among the residents in Kuwait about the importance of blood donation and to encourage maximum people to donate blood, with the support of Kuwait Central Blood Bank.

The unit will be equipped with 6-8 stations and blood can be donated after preliminary health screening. Malabar Gold & Diamonds organizes blood donation drive in different parts of GCC periodically with support of authorized blood banks as a part of its ongoing CSR activities. They associate with like-minded organizations and undertake several welfare activities in different parts of India, GCC and Singapore for the poor and downtrodden section of the society.

The group also supports many such initiatives to help the needy by providing medical facilities, housing, quality education and other welfare activities to the needy.
