TACK-MGCC Jointly Present The Mega Cricket Weekend

8 finals to be played during the two-day Cricket BONANZA!

Participation in the biggest corporate tournament in GCC i.e. DPL (Desert Premier League) will always be considered a watershed moment in Teams Association for Cricket in Kuwait (TACK) history and ranked as one of its most significant achievements alongside the historic 4 Nations Festival and the on-going Children’s Cricket Academy to promote cricket at grass root levels in Kuwait. However, core reason for TACK’s existence and initiation is and always has been serving domestic cricket in Kuwait and providing ideal facilities and environment to teams and players and take Cricket in Kuwait to its ultimate pinnacle. TACK-MGCC Merger earlier this year was seen as an auspicious omen that promised cricketers in Kuwait to realise this dream. The immense confidence placed in the merger was not without reason as both the organizations have been serving the game in Kuwait for a number of years and bring varied set of strengths and expertise to the table. With the conduction of domestic finals in April this year, no doubt was left in anybody’s mind about the muscle, competency and ability of TACK to deliver on its promises with great panache. The festivities are back again on this weekend (19th-20th June) as a grand total of 8 finals will be played over two days to round up TACK-MG Division League (TMDL) and Doha TACK Division League (DTDL). As always, it will be a tough fight to the finish as the top teams from all over Kuwait will be seen competing against each other to be crowned champions for their respective divisions and the lavish cash prizes along with the trophies and medals are an added bonus for all the finalists.

Following the traditions established since the historic 4 Nations Tournament, TACK-MGCC finals will offer the perfect mix of food, music and entertainment packed T-20 cricket to people from all backgrounds in Kuwait. DJ Flames, a renowned name in Kuwait’s music fraternity will be seen spinning the latest tunes of Bollywood. Ongoing commentary in English and Urdu will ensure that crowd is entertained with funny anecdotes and make them aware about the match situation. TACK-MGCC strongly believe that players are their most important asset and should therefore be rewarded generously. The organizations have always delivered on this front in the past and this mega weekend will see the players and teams across all four divisions getting $15 000 worth of cash prizes.

The 2nd Edition of Doha TACK Division League (D-TDL) saw 40 teams (up from 37 last year) competing across four divisions i.e. A, B, C and D at the lush green outfield and turf wickets of TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground – Doha and that too under International standard flood lights. Teams were split across four divisions depending on their strengths and standing in TACK rankings with Division A comprising of the best cricket teams in the country. The growth in number of teams playing D-TDL demonstrates growth of cricket in Kuwait and pivotal role played by TACK-MGCC in ensuring to spread the game far and wide. On the other hand, TMDL, which is the official merger league of TACK & MGCC, saw 38 teams competing across four divisions of A, B, C & D on the cement wickets and at the desert grounds of Sulaibikhat, Hateen & Kabd.

TMDL finals will commence on Thursday – 19th of June at 4:30 pm with Division C, Division B and Division A finalists going head to head against each other with Division D playing on Friday – 20th of June at 6:00 am. D-TDL finals will start at 9:00 am on the 20th of June with Division D finals followed by Division C finals at 1:00 pm and Division B finals at 4:00 pm. The mega final of division A will commence at 7:00 pm with the giants Safety Plus Dashers taking on the mighty Aroma Cricket Club.

The schedule for Thursday TMDL finals is as follows:

However, TACK-MGCC would like to extend the invitation to cricket lovers from all over Kuwait to come out and enjoy a unique atmosphere at TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground in Doha, a place which has become synonymous with good time with friends and families and you are bound to feel at home, away from home.
