EDUMEET – 2014 was conducted on 16th May 2014 at Salmiya Indian Model School by the Indian Muslim Welfare Association and was a grand success. It was their third consecutive year. This program was started in 2012 to encourage the children to develop their speaking and writing skills, it consisted of the following events this year also.

Debate: The Debate competition was between all registered CBSE Indian School students of Kuwait. Where 11 Indian School students participated with a total of 22 participants speaking For and Against the movement.

The topics for the Debate were:

1. Has Democracy Created A Fair, Unified And Progressive India?

2. Is Indian Education System Better Than The Foreign Education System?

3. Is The Importance Of Print Media Relevant In Today’s Age Of Electronic Media And Social Media?

4. Has Government Reservation Policy Successfully Addressed Its Goals?

This was followed by an Essay Writing competition of 250 words for the students of Standard VII to XII. Topics were given on the Spot. The event started with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by its translation in English. The judges were then introduced and the rules of the event were explained. The judges were felicitated with a memento by the honourable Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Mr Sunil. Jain, who was the chief guest of the event and a souvenir was also released on this occasion.

The results of the competition were as follows:

Group –A (Classes VII-VIII)

1. Yumna Kulsoom Adeel- Winner

2. Anjali Saji- 1st Runner Up

3. Taha Adeel Mohammed- IMWA Talent

Group – B (Classes IX –X)

1. Merin Benny Maliyeckel- Winner

2. Vijay Anant- 1st Runner Up

3. Mohammed Mishal- IMWA Talent

Group – C (Classes XI- XII)

1. Mohammed Arman- Winner

2. Omar K Ismail- 1st Runner Up

3. Mohammed Adeel- IMWA Talent

The results of the Debate competition were as follows:

1. Vijay Anant – Winner

2. Duvvuri Rohini Pratyusha – 1st Runner Up

3. Omar Ismail – 2nd Runner Up

Overall School Trophy Winner- Indian Community School Senior Branch.

The program came to an end with the vote of thanks given by the IMWA president and with the prize distribution ceremony.

The event was a great success.
