Commercial visit visas transfer until May 1

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Commercial visit visas can be transferred to work visas until the beginning of next month as an exception to a ban on foreign labor recruitment in Kuwait.

According to Al-Anba daily, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh has given authority to Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower Jamal Al-Dosari to approve the transfer of commercial visit visas to work permits in the private sector from April 21 to May 1.

According to report, the conditions for transfer include staying with the same sponsor, additional fee of KD 200 for each approved transaction, and valid commercial visit visa. The authority will collect KD 200 for every year of the work visa’s duration as an additional fee, the report said.
