Huawei Sponsors TACK XI for DPL and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL

TACK-Huawei XI to Participate in The Biggest Corporate Tournament in GCC

Teams Association for Cricket in Kuwait (TACK) and MG Cricket Club came together earlier this year to raise the standard of domestic Cricket in Kuwait by providing the best facilities and maximum exposure to domestic players like never before. In order to live up to that promise, TACK is flying their team to the neighboring UAE where it’s participating in the biggest domestic cricket tournament in the GCC which is now famously known as the Desert Premier League (DPL). In this pioneering endeavor TACK is being backed by the Chinese Telecommunication Global Giant Huawei. Huawei’s relationship with TACK goes back to the historic 4 Nations Festival (15th Nov 2013) where Huawei was one of the key Corporate sponsors and believed in TACK’s vision. Building on their relationship further and fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibility, TACK-Huawei XI is travelling to the glittering deserts of Dubai to participate in DPL.

Huawei is the largest telecommunications equipment maker in the world, overtaking Ericson. Founded in 1987, Huawei has proved itself to be a socially responsible brand on several occasions and has consistently contributed funding and equipment to a number of universities in countries such as Nigeria, Bangladesh and Kenya. Additionally, Huawei has also been longtime supporter and sponsor of various sports teams and events such as Liga de Fútbol Profesional in Spain. Earlier this year, Arsenal F.C. announced that Huawei will become their official Global Smartphone Partner. Huawei debuted in the field of Cricket in April 2014 by becoming the principal sponsor of Royal Challengers Bangalore, a domestic cricket team that plays in the well renowned and cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL). The fact that a global giant like Huawei only associates itself with the biggest and the best of sporting brands and has now put their corporate muscle behind TACK speaks volumes about the quality of work being done by the organization for Cricket in Kuwait. Since both the organizations put customers (players) first and believe that their success is the organization’s success, participating in DPL provides the ideal platform for both the brands to come together in achieving something special which has never been done in Kuwait Cricket’s history before.

Desert Premier League is a recent cricket phenomenon that took the GCC cricket world by storm with its first season in January 2013. The month long tournament last year saw 32 corporate and club teams battle it out at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Skyline University College for the champion’s trophy as well as cash and prizes worth over AED 50000. DPL Season 2 promises to be bigger and better with 48 teams and over 750 players participating in 95 T20 Matches, at picturesque venues such as Emirates The Sevens in Dubai and Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. With Radio Mirchi (UAE’s No.1 Asian Radio Station) as official event partner, Khaleej Times as the print partner and television partner Imagine Movies broadcasting the semifinals and finals live on television, DPL promises to be a matchless and exhilarating prospect for cricket players in Kuwait.

A training camp has been setup at TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground-Doha by TACK-MG with a pool of 30 top players from the leading teams of Kuwait. The final squad of 16 players will be selected by the senior coaching staff and TACK-MG management based on fitness, performance in TACK-MG tournaments and discipline. Players have been undergoing rigorous training for the last five weeks which is expected to get more strenuous with less than a month to go before the team’s departure on 12th May. Some of the players in the camp have fond memories of DPL Season 1 when TACK’s team Kuwait Dashers made it to the finals. They will be hoping to better that performance this year as the facilities and platform provided by TACK-MG and the magnanimous support of Huawei is second to none. TACK in collaboration with Huawei plans to run an elaborate campaign leading up to the team’s departure on 12th May 2014. In coming days and weeks TACK-MG and Huawei aim to announce the final squad for TACK-HUAWEI XI and are extremely confident of their team doing really well in its first overseas tournament.

The official online media partner for TACK-HUAWEI XI is indiansinkuwait.com – the leading web portal for the expatriate community in Kuwait and is therefore going to extensively cover the progress of the squad here in Kuwait and in Dubai also. Pro Sports is going to be the official sports equipment partner of TACK throughout the tournament with branded equipment being provided to the entire squad of 16 players. All the printing requirements of TACK-HUAWEI-XI is going to be managed and handled by the Germany Printing Press Company, one of the leading giants in print solutions in the market of Kuwait. Kuwait Swedish Cleaning Services Company is the official logistics partner of TACK since the historic 4 nation’s T-20 festival. Camco Global Events is the official events management partner of TACK and therefore, any official event leading up to the team’s departure will be handled by this national giant which is responsible for conducting some of the most prestigious events in the history of Kuwait.
