MH 370 Malaysian Jet, the latest addition to the mysterious missing history of flights into the blue. One week past the event, the whole story still remains draped. In the decades old aviation history, this is the one with maximum number of passengers, 239 onboard. If ever we try to look into the enlisted flights gone missing, the number will cross 100 with the whereabouts of more than 1000 passengers remaining unknown till date.
From 1945 onwards, for another 20 years the incidents on supernatural power grabbing various planes and ships with no traces at the Devil’s triangle in Northern Atlantic were familiar to the global community. Flight 19 incident was the most shocking one which took the lives of on board airmen and even the searcher flight. In 1948 two vanishing incidents were reported over the Atlantic, within a span of six months; the first one being a British Airbus and the second a French. More than 80 lives have gone with the wind. Five years later in 1953, Avro York, a British trooping flight, with 39 people onboard including soldiers and their families went astray over Atlantic.
The first female piloted circumnavigation flight went missing in Pacific Ocean in 1937. In 1957 and 1962, two American military flights disappeared over Pacific taking the lives of over 150 people. Again in 1999 Egypt Air jet flight to Cairo vanished in Atlantic, though the remnants were found later. It’s now 11 years since the Boeing 727 from Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport vanished in the Angolan capital of Luanda taking with it the flight engineer himself. 2009 reported with the mishap of Air France Flight to Paris vanishing over Atlantic with its 228 occupants. The bulk wreckage was found in 2012.
In 1923 German airbus ‘Seplin’ disappeared over Sahara with about 50 lives including the crew. In 2012 the remnants of another 70 years old missing flight was found. Stray Royal air force fighter which lost its contact was found crashed in Egyptian Sahara. Surprisingly most of its fuselage, wings, tail and cockpit instruments were found unharmed.
Report says that similar to the Devil’s triangle in the Atlantic there exists the dangerous Dragon's Triangle in Pacific which extends from Tokyo down to Taipai, towards the island of Guam. It possesses some magnetic irregularities, and vessels that pass through it have reported steering and communication breakdowns. Sudden weather change, unexplained sudden ocean swells, whirlpools, thick fogs, and storms happen together with disappearances of ships and flights here.
More than 20 countries are involved in the search for MH370 with aircrafts, ships and most modern technology. Call it an accident or supernatural, the fact remains, even the most modern techniques are insufficient to tackle the boundless nature.
