Sami Mohammad AI-Sulaiman, ambassador of the State of Kuwait to India said that efforts would be made to enhance the inflow of tourists from Kuwait to Goa.
According to Times of India report, AI-Sulaiman made the statement when he met the governor B V Wanchoo at Raj Bhavan during his Goa visit on Friday.
Besides exchanging pleasantries, the dignitaries discussed important issues of mutual interest to both the countries.
He highlighted the good relationship between the two countries and said that India's relation is good not only with Kuwait, but also with other Gulf nations.
The ambassador also mentioned that as a large number of people from India are working in Kuwait, the Kuwaitis have become well aware of Indian culture and all the important festivals of India are celebrated in Kuwait, TOI Report says.
According to TOI report, ambassador assured to make efforts to enhance tourism relations of Kuwait with Goa, and informed that the Kuwait State Airlines flies to five destinations in India and they hope to touch Goa as well soon, according to an official press release.
Currently, not many tourists from Kuwait visit Goa. This is also attributed to lack of direct air link from Kuwait to Goa, sources said adding that many of them visit Mumbai. Secondly, Goa has not emerged as a strong destination for health tourism.
