Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Satish C Mehta and Assistant Secretary General of Arts and Theaters in the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Mohammad Al-Asousi together inaugurated the photography exhibition on Islamic Monuments of India, taken by Renowned Indian Historian and art photographer Benoy K. Behl.

The exhibition, at Ahmad Al-Adwani Hall, in Dahiyat Abdullah Al-Salem near Kuwait City, was attended large number of dignitaries including Ambassadors of various countries such as UAE, Italy, Albaniya, Sudan, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesian, Spain etc. The exhibition is jointly organized by Embassy of India, Kuwait in association with National Council of Arts, Culture & Letters in Kuwait.

The exhibition consists of 45 still photos which reflected the rich and varied heritage of Islamic architecture. These monuments are a great treasure of India’s culture and are of particular value as they reflect artistic and cultural links with many other countries. The photographs depict details of architects and nature throughout the years, in particularly the Islamic era in India.

Benoy K Behl is a film-maker, art-historian and photographer who are known for his tireless and prolific output of work over the past 35 years. Born in 1956, Behl has taken photographs in India and across the world. He has photographed historic monuments, ancient art and ancient Buddhist paintings of India and he has also photographed Badami caves, Lepakshi Temple. He is recognized as the first notable photographer to use zero light photography at Ajanta Caves.The exhibition shall be kept open till 27 May 2013 from 0900 hrs to 1230 hrs and 1700 hrs to 2100 hrs. ou
