IndiansinKuwait.com in association with India Book of Records conducted IIK Spectrum - Memory Championship in Kuwait for the 2nd time. The championship was held on Friday, 7th September 2012 in Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS), Kuwait. It was attended by many interested candidates who dared to take up the challenge.
The memory championship was based on top performance in a challenge set for the participants. The challenge was to memorize and recollect different words and numbers. It was in two forms. The first challenge was to memorize a set of thirty completely different and unrelated words within a given time limit and then write them down in the same order.
The second challenge was slightly tougher. The participants were given a set of 50 abstract numbers and were challenged to memorize them within a given time limit. They were then asked to write them on the given answer sheet in the same order.
A total of 22 participants competed for the championship. The participants were mainly school children from various levels. Out of 22 competitors, 5 of them were nominated for the "Junior Grand Master Title". Akshaya K.S (Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan), P. Chandan (ICSK Amman), A. Uma Prasanna (Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan), Meenakshi. K (Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan) and Abhinaya (Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan) were nominated for the "Junior Grand Master Title".
In addition to the above, 4 students were nominated for the "Grand Master Title". These students gave onstage demonstartion in April 2012 seminar. These students will again showcase their talent in the memory seminar which will be held on 14th September 2012. The names of the 4 students are Varshini Balasubramanium (Gulf Indian School), Manar Asad Khan (ICSK senior), Ayush Ashutosh Panigrahi (Indian Central School) and Pooja Gopikrishnan (ICSK senior).
