Kerala Associations Kuwait conducted ‘Kathirmanikal’

Kerala Associations Kuwait a secular Pravasi Malayali Unit successfully conducted ‘Kathirmanikal’ [Malayalam Folk Song Competition (Group)] on February 10th Friday at United Indian School Abbassiya. The event brings back pravasi malayalis nostalgic memories about our motherland, Eros the fragrance of our culture to bring back your memories to our beautiful home land. Accompanied with folk sculptures and music instruments around hundreds of upcoming artists from renowned arts and cultural associations participated in the competition [Senior, Junior]. ”Kathirmanikal” Malayalam folk song competition will be a great attempt to regain our culture from westernization. Pravasi Malayali Socity celebrated this event as a great festival, refreshed soul and mind, fly back nostalgic memories to beautiful motherland for a while.

The official event started with welcome speech by program committee convener Mr.Sreem Lal, meeting presides by Kerala association president Mr. U Abdul Kalam, competition inaugurated by famous Pravasi Malayali writer Mr.Kaippattur Thankachan. Wishes done by former president Mrs. Unnimaya and Mr. Sathar Kunnel, Manikutten Edakkatu showed associations condolence towards famous personalities who passed away from the world. And several renowned social and cultural personalities among pravasi malayalis attended in the function.

In enthusiastic tight competition junior section Salmiya kids team in 1st place, Aparna shine & team in 2nd place and Abbassiya kids team comes 3rd position .

In inch to inch though competition in senior category Fahaheel Nadodikoottam and Friends of Kannur sheared 1st place, Kazhcha Kuwait came 2nd place and Abyat Company workers recreation came 3rd place.

Mr. Uttaman Valathukkavu, Mr.Shaheer Kabeer and Mr .Bobi Paul Joy were the judging panel.

Prize were distributed to the winners by Mr. Bahavudeen Abdul Rahman, Mr. Shafas Ahamad [Lulu Exchange], Mr.Balu Chandran [Al Humaizi Pharmasuticals ], Mr .Shaji Raguvaran, Mr .Sabu M Peter , Mr. Rafi Kambisseri ,Mr. Praveen Nandilath , Mr. Rafi Thamarakkulam respectively. Mr. Manoj Kumar Udhayapuram controlled the stage as anchor. Mr.Anil Kannoor, Mr.Rendeep Kodugallur, Mr. Ubaid Palluruthi, Mrs. Kripa Sujith , Mr Manoj Kozhikod, Mr. Hareesh Ragavan , Mr. Pramod Kanjangad, Miss. Noorjahan are the program controllers.

The prizes were also distributed to the winners of "Ee Manoharatheerathu " for the everlasting memories of great poet of Malayalam Mr, Vayalar Ramavarma conducted by Kerala Association Kuwait.
