Kuwait NRI receives GIA-International Excellence Award-2012

GIA-International Excellence Award-2012 ceremony and the Felicitation function for the delegates to Pravasi Bharatiya Divas-2012 was held at New Delhi YMCA, Jai Singh Road on 10 January 2012 at 7.00 P.M. ernational dignitaries. The ceremony was inaugurated by Shri. T.K.A Nair, Advisor to Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. GIA International Excellence Award 2012 was presented by Shri T.K. A. Niar to 14 Awardees from different countries around the globe. The awardees have been selected from different spheres of life with credible contribution to the society with special emphasis on the initiatives undertaken for the welfare of the Indians abroad. There were separate awards for social workers, professionals and entrepreneurs on country basis. The Award ceremony was graced by around 150 NRI delegates representing various Indian organizations around the world who are part of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2012 which was celebrated by Govt. of India from 7-9 January 2012 at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Along with Award Distribution Ceremony, Bharata Natyam was presented by Revathi Verma Vayalar (Grand Daughter of Legend Vayalar Ramaverma) and Kathakali was presented by International Kathakali Centre, New Delhi. Global Indian Association (GIA) is an international platform for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) around the world and returned NRIs to unite together to present, share and solve the issues related to migration and work, welfare activities, co-ordination with Government of India and the Embassies of the respective countries in India. Global Indian association stands for the unity and amalgamation of Indian associations around th in the august presence of national & international dignitaries. The ceremony was inaugurated by Shri. T.K.A Nair, Advisor to Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. GIA International Excellence Award 2012 was presented by the Principle Secretary of the Prime Minister of India, Shri T.K. A. Niar to 14 Awardees from different countries around the globe.
