Kuwait Pangla Association Celebrates Christmas 2011

On 08 December 2011 Kuwait Pangla Association celebrated Christmas with panglaites and friends at Royal Terrace Restaurant, Salmiya Kuwait. The celebration began with a warm welcome by the MC which followed a beautiful and graceful Bharatanatyam welcome dance by Daffney.

The chief guest for the programme was Mr. Archie Menezes a prominent personality from Mangalore living in Kuwait. The MC welcomed the chief guest, former President Mr. Fredrick Quadras, and Vice President Ms. Rashmi D’Mello to the dais. The chief guest was greeted by giving a bouquet of flowers by Alvisha Noronha. MC introduced the chief guest to the audience and highlighted his achievements and contributions both in professional and personal life.

The chief guest thanked KPA President and executive committee for giving him the opportunity to be the guest of honor. He expressed his appreciation for the contribution made by the founder members in the early days of the association in the year 1993 and the legacy which has been continuing till today. He appreciated KPA’s role in helping the needy; be it for the welfare for the Pangla Parish back home, panglaties in Kuwait or honoring individual appeals from needy. He urged the members to make more contributions to the association so it could grow strong in the years to come.

It was a historic moment for KPA as it unveiled its official logo and slogan “Together We Make The Difference.” This was inaugurated by the chief guest and founder member Mr. Fedrick Quadars. The logo was conceptualized and designed by Mr. Arun Noronha.

An electrifying performance on the hit Bollywood song ‘Senorita Senorita’ was given by a dance group and a solo dance performance by Viola Martis to a popular song – Chammak Challo.

The much awaited Santa Claus made a musical entry to the song of Jingle Bell. Santa entertained the kids and adults and gave away lots of sweets. Kids had a gala time with Santa

There were many games for children and adults. This was followed by Housie Housie and Christmas cake draw on the entry pass which was won by Mr. Stephan Castelino.

The lucky member for the year 2011 was Mr. Anil Alva & family for a cash prize of INR 10,000.00.

The Christmas hamper 2011 draw was held and the winners were announced.

DJ SunRoshan kept the crowd on their toes & entertained everyone.

Ms. Rashmi D’mello said the grace before meals and Ms. Alice Rodriques proposed vote of thanks.

The programme was ably conducted by well know compare Mr. Jaison Lasrado. The hall was beautifully decorated by Mr. James and Mr. Vinod and the whole event was photographed by Alban D’souza & Blaiz D’souza.

The party concluded with delicious dinner prepared and served by Royal Terrace Restaurant.
