"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." - William Butler Yeats

The Welcome Assembly at Carmel School Kuwait marking the commencement of the new academic year 2024-2025 was held on April 7th, 2024 with great enthusiasm and anticipation by the students of Grade XII. The Principal, Sr. Christy Maria and Vice Principal, Sr. Saritha along with the teachers and students of Grades IX-XII gathered in the auditorium to initiate the academic year and commemorate the sacred festival of Eid.

The assembly began with the recitation of a verse from the Holy Quran followed by prayer and a melodious prayer song, asking the Lord for his blessings.

The assembly featured various special presentations, including an eye opening skit emphasising on the importance of mental health as well as maintaining a balance between studies and extra- curricular activities. The students performed an energetic and rhythmic Arabic Dance to celebrate Eid which was followed by a video imparting knowledge to the audience about the Holy month of Ramadan. These presentations added vibrancy and entertainment to the event while showcasing the diverse talents of the students.

The Principal, Sr. Christy addressed the audience, delivering an inspiring speech focusing on the significance of education, perseverance, and resilience in achieving success in a student’s life. Her words resonated with the audience and motivated them to strive for excellence in the upcoming academic year. The Vice Principal, Sr. Saritha warmly welcomed the students to their new classes. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of embracing new beginnings, setting goals, and making the most of the opportunities that the new academic year brings. She also reminded the students about the Student Code of Conduct, as well as the importance of being disciplined and courteous. In the closing remarks, the Vice Principal reiterated the school's commitment to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for all students. She encouraged everyone to work together collaboratively, embrace challenges, and strive for excellence.

Overall, the welcome assembly served as a fitting inauguration for the new academic year, setting a positive tone and inspiring students, teachers, and staff to embark on the journey ahead with enthusiasm, determination, and optimism.
