Nandhanam Kuwait Hosts "Rangapravesham 2024" Showcasing Rich Indian Cultural Heritage

Nandhanam Kuwait presented "Rangapravesham 2024" at the FAIP – DPS School Auditorium on April 12th, 2024. The event commenced with an inaugural address by Mr. Nikhil Kumar, Second Secretary (Information, Press, and Culture) from the Indian Embassy, Kuwait. Mr. Nikhil Kumar praised Nandhanam's commitment to preserving and showcasing the authentic artistic culture and heritage, a sentiment that resonated deeply with all attendees. His speech emphasized the profound significance of Indian culture and acknowledged Nandhanam's invaluable role in promoting these cherished values in Kuwait.

Gracing the occasion as the special guest was Ms. Divya Unni, a prominent South Indian film actress and classical dancer, alongside other distinguished dignitaries from Kuwait. Ms. Divya Unni commended the efforts of the teachers in presenting Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam, and Kuchipudi in their purest forms. The welcome speech was delivered by Smt. Nayana Santhosh, followed by the rendition of the national anthem.

During the event, Shri Nikhil Kumar unveiled the Souvenir – "Rangapravesham 2024," with the first copy presented to Ms. Divya Unni. The live accompaniment team, comprising Shri Bijeesh Krishna (Vocal), Shri Chrudattan V (Mridangam), Shri Suresh Nambuthiri (Violin), and Shri Soundara Rajan (Veena), captivated the audience with a beautiful Ganesha Sthuthi.

A total of 59 students showcased their Arangetram performances in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi, accompanied by live music. As a tribute to these Arangetram students, junior members of Nandhanam presented a chain dance, symbolizing unity, respect, and the strong bond within the Nandhanam family.

Ms. Divya Unni awarded mementoes and certificates to the Arangetram participants, while special recognition was given to Ms. Ritu Michael for her remarkable 12-year journey with Nandhanam, culminating in Arangetrams across Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam. The makeup artists, Shri Biju Mary Varghese and Ms. Rasna Raj, were also appreciated for their contributions.

In a gesture of gratitude, Nandhanam directors, Mrs. Nayana Santhosh and Mrs. Bindhu Prasad, presented a memento to Ms. Divya Unni. Concluding the event, Kumari Nanda Prasad extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to the parents, teachers, sponsors, and well-wishers for their unwavering support and passion towards preserving our culture and heritage.

This event stands as a testament to Nandhanam's dedication to promoting Indian art and culture, enriching the cultural landscape of Kuwait while fostering a sense of unity and pride within the community.
