Bhavans India Science Forum (BISF) Season2 - Science Exhibition at Smart Indian School

A Science exhibition in connection with Bhavans India Science Forum with 21 teams from seven different Indian schools in Kuwait was held at Smart Indian School on 24 March 2024.

Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer welcomed the gathering. Senior scientists of Kuwait Scientific Research Center graced the occasion with their presence. Research Scientist Dr. Qusaie Karam, Coastal Management Program Manager-Dr. Bassam Shuhaiber and Research Scientist Dr. Muhammad Ali inaugurated the event as Guests of Honour.

In his welcome speech Dr. Qusaie Karam reminded the young scientists that Science should be used for the good of the world. Dr. Bassam Shuhaiber said that it is not about winning or losing, it is about being able to share innovative knowledge gained through experience and hard work. Dr. Muhammad Ali suggested that ultimately, even as scientists, we should be able to value human values.

Smart Indian School Magazine Melange 2023-24 was launched by the Guests of Honour. Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer presented the mementos to the scientists.

Bhavans School Kuwait Senior Vice Principal, Mrs. Anselma Tessy, Bhavans Kuwait Academic Coordinator Santhosh Chungath, Vice Principal Mrs. Albin Daisy, Cambridge School Vice Principal Mrs. Bhavita Bright, KG Supervisor Ms. Rekha Jaipal and Academic Coordinator Ms. Thushara Sanjeev were also present in the event.

BISF2024 was organized under the leadership of the Science Department of Smart Indian School. Science teachers Mrs. Rekha Ravindran, Mrs. Nithya, Mrs.Jitha and Mr. Anthony Rupesh along with students Nifansa Arul, Prisha and Lakshmi Grebnikova led the program. Certificates and mementos were awarded to schools and young scientists who participated in the exhibition. Bhavans Indian Science Forum started with the idea that every Science experiment should be fair to nature. In the end the exhibition results were announced, and the Chief Guest distributed trophies and certificates to the winners.

In the Junior Category,the team from Indian Educational School comprising Arya Jainkumar and Ameya Hari Bhaskar guided by Ms. Ninu Shreekumar won the first position; Second position was bagged by Aayush Nirmal Gireesh and Niranjan K. Hari from Smart Indian School guided by Mr. Antony Rupesh. Third position was secured by Joanna Ponnam Thomas and Mabel Ann Joby from Carmel School guided by Ms. Anu Jerry John.

In the Senior Category,Evanna Sarah Brijesh and Jalaluddeen Akbarfrom Indian Educational School secured first position under the guidance of Ms.Kavitha Raechel and Ms. Aswathy Simil. Second position was secured by Aditya Arun Kartha and Siddharth Sudheer from Indian Education School under the guidance of Ms. Athira P V and Ms. Glanis Sandra. Third position was secured byAravind Abhilash and Kevin Manoj from Smart Indian School under the guidance of Ms. Nithya Karunakaran Pillai.

A few schools were also awarded special positions. The "Best Creative Project" award went to Gulf Indian School, Kuwait, in the junior category, and to Smart Indian School, Kuwait, in the senior category. "Best Presentation" was awarded to Indian Education School, Kuwait, in the junior category, and to Smart Indian School, Kuwait, in the senior category. "Best Stall" was given to Indian Education School, Kuwait, in the junior category, and to Bhavans SIS Cambridge, Kuwait, in the senior category. A "Special Jury Award" was given to Indian Central School, Kuwait, in the junior category, and to Indian International School, Mangaf, in the senior category. The "Top Pick by Visitors" award went to Carmel School, Kuwait. The event then concluded with the playing of the national anthem of India.
